The epitome of every Dracula movie ever made- the only thing lacking was the silk lined cape, for pete's sake.

I laid my fingers in his palm and his hand snapped closed. With a nod, he turned, dragging me through his fancy schmancy mansion. Past the historic kitchen, through the beautiful dining room, then into the library.
Before I knew it, Lucien led me through a secret panel into the dark and down a dusty flight of stairs. We moved through a dark, dank cave. Creepy crawlies skittered along the walls, and a girly screech shot out of my mouth when spider webs trailed across my face. My hands scrabbled at the silken threads, and I fought the urge to hurl. Hey, I can handle saving the world, but spiders were not in my job description.
“Shhh,” said Ulric, brushing away the webs. His voice soft and husky. It rolled down my spine sending bolts of pure sensual heat throughout my body. It didn’t help he had wrapped an arm about me pulling me against his hard, masculine body.

Lucien was my man in control. No matter what happened, he was unflappable. The epitome of composure. But Ulfric, he was hot. There was just something about that animalistic sensual heat that always hit me when I least expected it. Like right now.

“Back off,” I snarled. “This stake can do just as much damage to your eye as Lucien’s heart.”
His soft chuckle did nothing to alleviate the sudden surge of desire. “I’m not worried.”

Lucien pulled me forward through the dark tunnel. “We have to hurry. Once your beloved gets here, it will be too late.”

I started to ask too late for what, but the cave opened into a huge chamber. Gold and silver glittered beneath the flickering torch light. Who used torches these days anyways? Lucien’s cache of loot. Living forever had its perks.

Lucien released my hand and moved toward a table against the far wall. He picked up a small chest, then turned to face me. I was starting to get a really bad feeling in the pit of my gut.

“I went to Macedonia because of you, Raven. And when Ulfric told me of your plans to marry the wizard, I decided it was best if we gave this to you together.”

“He’s not a wizard,” I said again.

I glanced at Ulfric and Drago, before taking the ornate box offered by Lucien. They stood silent, waiting. I sighed. May as well get this over with. The small chest was heavier than I’d expected. The case was pure gold, but instead of Greek art as expected, the craftsmanship was Egyptian. Horus’s all seeing eye was the clasp, Isis’s wings spread protectively across the lid. I glanced at Lucien who nodded.

With a deep sigh, I opened it.

Inside, nestled amid soft silken threads and cloth was a small jar. And a sheet of paper. I took out the parchment and handed the chest back to Lucien, unfolding the letter carefully.

Father,
I have found the woman for the ceremony. She will help us both live another thousand years at least. Her name is Raven. She’s the perfect innocent. She has spent years fighting evil, so her blood will be extra powerful. Soon, father, you will be in full health again.
Mark ~X~

My blood turned to ice. In that instant, the spell I didn’t even know had been cast, lifted. I blinked and looked up at Lucien.

“The letter was in the box when I stole it from Mark. I’m sorry.”

I nodded, fighting back the tears.

“You said you didn’t want to be with a Vampire. This potion will fix that.”

“This elixir will change the one who drinks from it. Changing them from what they are, to what they can be. Where I am a vampire, it will make me human. Or, you can drink it, and it will change you from human to something else.”

“What else?”

He shrugged. “The best being you could be. You already have some skills. They would improve.”

Like I needed more chances to save the world. Been there, done that. Even saw the movie. No thank you. I glanced to Ulfric. “And you guys are happy with that? You want me away from Mark so much you’ll let me stay with Lucien?”

“Not at all.” Ulfric stepped closer.

Oh joy. One thing about Ulfric. He was hot. But he was also scary. I fought the urge to back away. He stopped with inches to spare. When he leaned down and whispered in my ear, it wasn’t his words which sent a shiver through me. It was his hot, sexy breath feathering across my ear.

“Lucien isn’t the only one it will change. You choose, my sweet.” His fingers traced the inside of my wrist, and he brought my hand to his mouth. Fangs teased along my pulse point. Sharp, yet so gentle. “If you chose me, I will gladly give up my gift of the wolf to be with you.” The heat from his mouth and fingers sent a wave of pure lust through me. I swallowed the moan threatening to escape and fought the urge to step into his embrace.

“Choose,” he murmured.

“Enough,” growled Ulfric. “You’re skewing her decision.”

I stepped back fighting to clear my head. I looked again at the elixir. The ruby red liquid sparkled in the muted light. Before Mark, I’d wanted each one of them with a passion that couldn’t be denied. A passion that still sizzled in their eyes, calling to me.

“So let me get this straight. I’m supposed to believe this letter is real and dump the man of my dreams so I can choose one of the two of you to marry?”

Light exploded, chasing away the darkened shadows. A man more beautiful than Lucien, Urlich, Dragos and Mark combined, appeared. My knees turned to water and I grabbed hold of Ulrich for balance. The being folded his powerful white wings, then brushed off the wisp of spider web he’d managed to scrape from the ceiling upon his arrival.

“No my dear. You must choose between the three of us.”

It was Seth, my fallen angel.
